Learning Disabilities
As an individual with dyslexia, I have a deep respect and understanding for the daily emotional challenges that exist for those with learning disabilities. I am committed to working with children, adolescents, and adults to help them explore, identify, accept, and navigate life.
I find great joy in helping adults and children explore the possibility of a life lived with a learning disability. We will work together to redefine a disability as an ability.
Transitions can be particularly challenging for someone with a special need of any kind. This may be a student moving from middle school to high school, high school to college, or an adult looking to embrace the work force. It is at times of increased anxiety that often lead to feelings of inability. Through counseling, we will work to restore and enhance the sense of self worth and individual strength.
In addition to private counseling, I am prepared to provide students and their families with evaluation and support needed for completion of IEPs and 504 Plans.
